 Wolverhampton races.

Dunstall park.

Wolverhamptons first racecourse was at what is now the west park.  However for those of us not a few hundred years old the racecourse is now on Dunstall park.  The course was extensively rebuilt during the later part of the 20th century complete with a new all weather no slip surface.

 Parks.

Wolverhampton has 3 main parks, each with its own character and facilities.  West park, not far from the town centre, home to the Wolverhampton annual show, it has a hot house with rare tropical plants, a boating lake, cafe etc.  The East park, situated on the Willenhall/Bilston side of town running up to the monmore green area, is often used for such things as pop concerts etc.  Bantock park, Bradmore, the former home of the Bantock family including former town dignitary sir Granville Bantock.  Smaller than the other parks, has a miniature golf course, Sunday football pitches and houses the Bantock house museum.
